Recap
This week was Ron Eslinger’s first meeting as our new 2019-2020 Rotary President. He took this week to cover a few basics and outline his vision for the upcoming year. He mentioned a few things of importance:
- Did everyone get an email from Ron this week? If not, please let him know so that he can add you to his list.
- Ron would like to begin something new this year to help us get to know each other better. He would like for everyone to give a one to two minute speech about yourself (who you are, what business you’re with and what you do there). You can select your week and let Ron know which one you would like. So naturally, Ron took his turn this week.
Member Spotlight – Ron Eslinger
Most of us know Ron as a hypnotist at Healthy Visions. But he’s much more than that! Ron joined the Marines in 1966, became a nurse anesthetist and went to Vietnam. After a successful career in the military, he retired in 2003 as a Captain in the United States Navy. It was then that he moved to Anderson County with his wife Karen and opened Healthy Visions. He first became interested in hypnotism for pain management and that grew into a career from there. Ron is also a published author and has wrote many books and articles on topics ranging from nursing, to happiness, to pain management and hypnotism. He conducts webinars and extensive training on hypnotism to teach others as well.
Ron also mentioned a few areas that we need everyone’s help with this year.
- Membership AND RETENTION – Instead of only focusing on adding new members, he would like to also focus on retaining the ones we have now. However, that being said, the goal is still to add 3 new members for the year.
- Speaker Committee – Ronnie needs assistance recruiting speakers. If you know of someone that would like to speak or may be of interest, please let him know.
- Public Relations Committee – We need help with social media! If one or two people in the club would be interested in helping with this, especially our Facebook page posting, please let Ron or Leighann know. Also, please make sure you ‘like’ our FB page too! You will find the button at the top of this newsletter every week that takes you right to it.
- Treasury - It would greatly help Michael and Jerry if everyone would kindly pay their dues on time so they don’t have to keep asking. The quarterly dues statement went out this week from Jerry, so please look for that and pay it in a timely manner.
- Social Committee – We are looking for a few people to help Bill on this committee. We would like to host a Fall Fling and Spring Fling where we do something fun together outside of regular meetings. If you would be interested in helping, please see Bill or Ron.
A sign-up sheet is attached to this newsletter. If you would be interested in helping on one of these committees, it would be greatly appreciated!

Our new District Governor, Greg Maciolek, has sent out a video newsletter introducing himself and outlining goals for the upcoming year. Please take 12 minutes of your time to watch it.
